Dr Dimple Notani of the National Centre for Biological Sciences, Bangalore has been selected as one of the first life scientists from India to join the European Molecular Biology Organization’s Global Investigator Programme.
These scientists, who are in the early stages of establishing independent laboratories and have outstanding research potential will receive support from EMBO to access career-enhancing training and networking opportunities. Dr Notani has been a faculty member at NCBS
since 2016, and an expert in functional genomics and epigenetics. Her lab research centres on questions of how specific gene expression program is governed dynamically by regulatory elements and chromatin architecture in signalling and disease context.
The Global Investigator Programme was launched in 2019 and supports life scientists who have, within the last six years, started their own laboratory in an EMBC Associate Member State (currently India and Singapore) or in a country or territory covered by a cooperation
agreement with EMBC.
