The source - This was taken in the Dolomites (Alps). Its cold and water precipates as snow. And when the sun is shining they slowly liquify and give rise to marvelous waterfalls.

Water supports life......and weight !
A pufferfish floating upside down in an intertidal pool in south Andaman. Puffers have an amazing defence mechanism to escape from predators. When threatened, it fills up the elastic stomach with water/air and inflates till it becomes like a spiny ball. This makes it harder for the predator to swallow a puffer. Sometimes these fishes get stuck in small pools, as they cannot make it before the tide retreats. In such situations their excellent defense mechanism acts like an oxygen tank ;)

View of Gurudongmar Lake (Sikkim) in the month of October, a high altitude lake at around 5000m above the sea level. As the winter approaches all the water gets locked up as ice. But it is believed that this lake never freezes :)
