NCBS Azim Premji Foundation Public Lecture

Azim Premji Foundation CEO, Anurag Behar visited NCBS to give a public lecture on the Foundation's efforts towards improving primary education in India.

The Foundation supports teaching efforts across seven states and works together with local governments on issues pertaining to sustainability of the present public education system.  Behar lauded the efforts made by teachers from the government run schools across the country. He described work being done by the Foundation in improving the quality of teacher training via specialised "institutions" of teacher educators. In his talk he appealed to the audience, mainly researchers from the Bangalore Biocluster, to contribute to an in-house magazine edited by the Foundation that would help with improving the teachers training materials on the subject of Biology.
